In the latest Beacon Blog, Nick Collins talks about the role of buildings in meeting New Zealand’s commitments to the Paris COP21 agreement.

If we’re to meet our target of reducing emissions to 30 per cent below 2005 levels by 2030 without adding agriculture to the Emissions Trading Scheme, we’re going to have to address buildings.

The Royal Society of NZ calculates that heating, cooling and powering buildings is responsible for around 20% of New Zealand’s energy-related greenhouse gas emissions.
