Lots to learn from North America
Participants in the July study tour to Vancouver, Seattle and Vancouver came back buzzing with lots of ideas that New Zealand can learn from.
The tour looked at what these three cities have done to address housing supply and affordability, and their efforts to increase density both in the city centre and in existing neighbourhoods.
Building on previous tours, the participants were able to have frank discussions with local officials, communities and developers about what worked and what didn’t work.
The biggest take out? There’s no silver bullet, but there are good ideas in all of these cities.
