In the latest Beacon Blog, Nick Collins explains why prefabrication, although offering lots of benefits, has some hurdles to overcome before it can realise its potential.

He reports on Beacon’s experience with prefabrication - from construction through to sale - with the HIVE High Performance House.  Construction was the easy bit!  The sales process, however, proved more challenging.

Nick says “We have to turn around the market perception of prefabrication.  It’s going to take a concerted effort - building quality is not enough, we have to make it easier for buyers AND change their thinking.  For our part, here at Beacon, we’re ditching the word “prefabrication”.  We think it has too many bad associations.:
