In the latest Beacon Blog, Nick Collins talks about an article which suggested that taking an incremental approach to renovations is actually a very poor strategy, compared to waiting several years and doing full energy efficiency renovations. ( )

Nick says there are a lot of reasons to do it right the first time: it saves on labour costs; it saves on redesign, call out fees and disruption to bundle work in the same area of a house together; and a house is the sum of its parts - you won’t get the ideal result until you address all the parts working together.
